Herman H. Berndt, age 93, of Ripon, died on January 14, 1989, at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Princeton, WI.
Herman was born October 25, 1895 in the Town of Brooklyn, WI, the son of Ferdinand and Anna (Naatz) Berndt. On December 5, 1917, he married Florence Gatzke. He lived in the Ripon area all of his life. Herman was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include four sons, Earl of Ripon, Lawrence of Waupun, and Gilbert and Melvin both of Neshkoro; one daughter, June Brown of Ripon; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services for Herman will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 1989, at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, with the Reverend James Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
Friends may call Monday, January 16, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
