Hilary Edward Altnau, age 76, Ripon, died March 11, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 13, 1922, in Ripon, a son to Edward and Amanda (Huth) Altnau. He attended school in Ripon. Hilary served in the US Army from 1942-1943, and was a 56 yr member of the “American Legion Service”, Brown-Parfitt Post #43. On August 24, 1946 he married Gelene Duzinski at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon. Hilary was a supervisor in Research and Development at Speed Queen until his retirement. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Gelene; 1 sister, Evelyn (Arden) Thom of Ripon; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Adeline Pufhal and Gladys Resheske, both of Ripon. His parents preceded him in death.
A Legion Service will be held Sunday, March 14, 1999, at 1:00 PM at
Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon with visitation to follow until
3:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM at the church with the Rev.
James Mohr officiating. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,
Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Berlin Hospice Hope would be
appreciated.
