Homer Gibson

Homer Gibson, age 90, of Ripon, WI, died Tuesday morning, September 12, 2000, at his home.

He was born February 18, 1910, in Rush Lake, a son to John and Mary Gibson. He graduated from Ripon High School, and on November 7, 1935, he married Lucille Hutchinson. Homer had been a baker at Ripon Foods for most of his life.

Survivors include one son, Eugene (Lorraine) Jess of Ripon; one daughter-in-law, Rosalie Jess of Ripon; five grandchildren, Cooper Jess, Connie (Chuck) Zolkoski, Luanne “Punky” (Doug) McConnell, Linda Jess and Lee (Cathy) Jess; four great-grandchildren, Jessica & Lesley McConnell and Jeremy & Jordan Jess; one sister, Arlouine “Babe” Earraparo of Waupaca; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille in 1988 and one son, Douglas in 1987.

Funeral service for Homer Gibson will be 7 pm Thursday, September 14, 2000, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Jonathan Stansfield will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery in the Town of Metomen. A memorial has been established.
