Howard Bly

Mr. Howard W. Bly, age 78, of the Town of Metomen, Brandon, WI, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 1991, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bly was born on May 11, 1913, in the Town of Metomen, a son to George and Delia (Wolcott) Bly. He was a farmer in the Town of Metomen all of his life. On September 20, 1940, he married the former Florence Theune.

Mr. Bly was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church and had served in several offices of the church. He was a past member of the Round Prairie School Board, a 4-H leader for the Fairwater Harvesters, a member of the Metomen Town Board for 28 years as a supervisor and chairman. He was a member of Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors. He was Fond du Lac County Unit Chairman of Wisconsin Towns Association and was a Director of the Unit for 20 years. He was Secretary-Treasurer for the Ripon Rural Fire Department and a member of the Ripon Harmony Kings.

Survivors include his wife Florence; two sons, Daryl (Kathleen) Bly of Brandon and Roger Bly and his fiancée Donna Wetzel of Brandon; one daughter, Debra (Kevin) Kaiser of Ripon; four granddaughters; two step-grandsons; one step-great-granddaughter; one sister, Anna (Burns) Kaupanger of Stoughton; one brother, Robert (Hazel) Bly of Brandon; and one sister-in-law, Carol Bly of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by a son Orlin and two brothers, George and Gordon.

Friends may call from 5 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 1991 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and Wednesday, May 22, 1991 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Brandon United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bly will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 1991 at the Brandon United Methodist Church with the Reverends Brad Greene and Robert LeCount officiating Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name.
