Hugh Francis Folsom, M.D. age 81, of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, passed away on August 17, 1985, at his home.
Hugh was born April 11, 1904, in Markesan, WI, the son of Dr. W.H. and Luella May (Curtis) Folsom. He attended his freshman year of college at Lawrence College in Appleton, WI, then followed by three years at the University of Wisconsin. Hugh did his graduate work at the University of Wisconsin and graduated Cum Laude from Harvard Medical School in 1929. Dr. Folsoms medical speciality was cardiology, and his medical career included three years as the Assistant Director of Student Health at Yale University, follow by 23 years as an internal medicine specialist at the Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham, MA and 20 years at the Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend, VT. Hugh married Mary Dadmun on July 14, 1928. He was a member of the Society of Sigma XI, the American College of Physicians, the Aesculapian Club and Phi Beta Kappa.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Hugh C. Folsom of Townshend, VT and John B. Folsom, PhD of Bozeman, MT; one daughter, Margaret Coty of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, G.A. Cooper of Madison, WI and one brother, Howard W. Folsom of Green Lake, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held in Indian Harbour Beach, FL on Monday, August 19, 1985.
