Ione Schultz

Ione A. Schultz, age 91, of Boscobel, WI (formerly of Ripon, WI), passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Gundersen Boscobel Hospital.

Ione was born September 5, 1923, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Harry F. and Lydia M. (Albrecht) Henning. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1941. On May 23, 1942, Ione married Lester L. Schultz at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ. Ione was a telephone operator for Northwest Telephone Company in Ripon until 1962 when they moved to Madison, where she worked as a Telephone Secretary in Madison for Curtain Call. Ione moved to Evansville, WI in 1991 until 2011 and then Boscobel, WI to be closer to her daughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo (Duane) Updike of Boscobel, WI; six grandchildren, Phillip L. (Ivy) Updike of Monroe, WI, Jill M. Johnson of Lake in the Hills, IL, Jeffrey M. (Linda) Updike of Evansville, WI, Sherri E. (Chris) Yahnke of Janesville, WI, Christina M. (Tim) Kraus of Evansville, WI and Kelly L. Schultz of Beaver Dam, WI; 13 great-grandchildren, Matthew L., Mitchell J. and Julia M. Johnson all of Lake in the Hills, IL, Aaron J., Andrew M. and Braden D. Updike all of Evansville, WI, Kyli L. Updike of Monroe, WI, Brett P. and Brittany C. Yahnke both of Janesville, WI, Tyler P. and Travis M. Kraus of Evansville, WI and Trenton P. and Lydia A. Schultz both of Beaver Dam, WI. Ione was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lydia Henning; husband, Lester L. Schultz and son, Phillip L. Schultz.

Visitation for Ione will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 9 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Ione will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Dr. Kevin P. Mundell will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.
