Irene E. Gneiser, age 81, of Green Lake, died Sunday, December 13, 1998, at Ripon Medical Center.
She was born November 24, 1917, in Markesan, a daughter to Earl and Mary (McCullough) Lee. She was a graduate of Green Lake H.S. and Berlin County Normal, and for several years taught in county elementary schools. On October 5, 1940, she married Frederic Gneiser, and they made their home in Green Lake. Irene was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, the Womens Fellowship and was on the Memorial Committee of the church. She was a member of the Green Lake Legion Auxiliary Post #306 for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Frederic Gneiser; 1 son, Donald
(Eunice) Gneiser of Portage; 2 grandsons, Jeff Gneiser of Portage and
William Gneiser of Stevens Point; 3 sisters-in-law, Rose Gneiser of Berlin,
Gladys Resheske and Gladys Lee, both of Ripon; several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. 4 brothers, Clayton,
Kenneth, Claude and Stanley Lee. and 1 sister, Verna Keso.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 15, 1998, from 5 until 7 pm at The Federated Church of Green Lake, and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Funeral services will be held December 16, 1998, at 11 AM at the Federated Church of Green Lake with the Rev. Karen Gygax-Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the American Legion Auxiliary Post #306 of Green Lake.
