Irene A. Rice, age 88, of Ripon, WI, passed away on January 9, 1987, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Irene was born October 2, 1898, in Ripon, WI, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Giese) Gehrke. She was educated in Ripon. On October 2, 1938, Irene married Hugh Rice until his passing on December 6, 1960. She worked as a telephone operator for North-West Telephone Company. Irene was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include one sister, Caroline Kornder of Oshkosh and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.
Visitation for Irene will be held on Friday, January 16, 1987, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Irene will be held on Friday, January 16, 1987, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend James Mohr officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon.
