Irene H. Steeps

Irene Helen Steeps, age 103, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Prairie Place.

She was born to Emil and Emma (Doede) Hoger on April 28, 1920 in Weyauwega, WI. She attended the Evanswood School, St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Grade School. Irene worked as a meat wrapper at R-Line. She married Edmund “Eddie” Steeps on November 5, 1938, in Weyauwega. Together they had two daughters.

Irene loved to garden, bake, can foods, and go shopping. She adored spending time with her family at get togethers.

Irene is survived by her grandchildren, Denise Taylor Perington of Ripon, WI, Diane (Dale) Smith of Berlin, WI, Brenda (Jim) Seibel of Whitefish Bay, WI, Jeff Meilahn of Fond du Lac, WI, Becky Morales-Horvath of Cameron, NC, Miranda Seuss of Lake Worth, FL; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 and a half great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Emma Hoger; her husband, Eddie Steeps; daughters, Marilyn Morales and Patricia Meilahn; sisters, Adeline Baird and Gladys Bucholtz; brothers, Kenneth Hoger and Darryl Hoger.

Visitation for Irene will be held on April 13, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon WI.

A funeral service for Irene will be held on April 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale.
