Irma H. Meinke, 89, of Ripon, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at her home.
Irma was born on April 14, 1918, in the Town of Metomen, the daughter of Lorenze and Ida (Manthie) Huth. She attended Fond du Lac County Grade School and graduated from Ripon High School. On September 20, 1938, Irma married Herbert Meinke. Irma worked for 25 years at Admanco as a switchboard operator. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ and the Ladies Guild, and also sang in the choir. Irma also volunteered her time to help at Ripon Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Bumby of Ripon, and Marian (George) Bauer of Fond du Lac; 3 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers.
Visitation for Irma H. Meinke will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials can be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
