Irvin G. Cleland Sr., age 80, of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Irvin was born December 16, 1933, in Adams County, WI, the son of the late Harry G. Cleland and Gertrude Cleland Briese. On August 21, 1954 he married Janet Mulvey at St. Peters Church in Oshkosh, WI. He served with the United States Coast Guard from 1952 1954. He worked with CD Smith as a Building Superintendent, finishing out his career with Miron Construction. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Brandon, WI.
Survivors include his seven children, Brenda Klahn, Cindy (Bruce) Leestma, Brian (Terri) Cleland, Allan (Peggy) Cleland, Danny (Dawn) Cleland, Becky (Steve) Ferry, and Irvin (Christina) Cleland Jr. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Beek, Judith Cleland; and a brother Ronald Briese. He was also survived by a very special lady, Ellen Fude. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Cleland and Gertrude Cleland Briese; his wife, Janet in 2007; two brothers; and a son-in-law, Don Klahn.
Visitation for Irvin Cleland Sr. will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 9:00 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral services for Irvin Cleland Sr. will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Pastor Bob Rosenberg will officiate. Interment will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery, Fond du Lac. A memorial has been established.
