Isabelle Zellmer

Isabelle Zellmer, age 93, of Maplecrest Manor on North Douglas Street in Ripon, died on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at her home with her family at her side.

Isabelle was born on March 15, 1916, in Brandon, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Davis) Giffey. She attended elementary school in the Town of Springvale, and moved to Ripon with her parents when she was a teenager and graduated from Ripon High School. Isabelle married Ray Zellmer while he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Stockton, California in 1942. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she served on various committees, worked with the Cradle Roll, and the Sunday School for several years. Isabelle was also involved in youth work and taught sewing for the 4-H Club.

Survivors include her son, Gerald “Jerry” and his wife Phyllis of Charlotte, North Carolina; step-grandson, Carlton Lynn and his wife Emi of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister, Glenna Moody of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Ray Zellmer; two brothers, Merton and Donald Giffey of Ripon; numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation for Isabelle Zellmer will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

A Memorial Service for Isabelle Zellmer will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with the Reverend Paul W. Nulton officiating. A private interment will be held the Garden of the Cross Cemetery prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elevator Fund or to St. Agnes Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
