Jabin Lawson

Jabin J. Lawson, 71, of Brandon WI, died Friday morning December 25, 1998, at his home.

Jabin was born December 26, 1926, in the Town of Rosendale, son of the late John and Anna Blackburn Lawson. He married Cora Turner in Brandon on June 3,1948. Jabin and Cora celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 3, 1998. Jabin served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He worked at National Rivet in Waupun and farmed for 18 years. He also worked for Condon Oil Company of Ripon, the Laconia High School, and Larson Canning Factory of Fairwater before retiring in 1984. Jabin was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church, 28 year member and past president of Fairwater Lions Club. He was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship for Humanitarian Services from Lions Club International. Jabin was a member of American Legion Post 378, past member of the Brandon Cemetery Association and was an avid hunter and pooi shooter.

He is survided by his wife Cora, 2 daughters, Tern (Stanley) Harmsen, Fairwater. JoEllen Lawson Hernandez, Ripon. 4 sons, Greg (Nancy) Lawson, Fairwater; Steven (Julie) Lawson, Fond du Lac; Robert (Jill) Lawson, Brandon; and Michael (Crystal) Lawson, Fond du Lac. 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A sister, Violet (Richard) Hartman, Arkansas; A brother Charles (Lois) Lawson, Brandon; and sister-in-law Margaret DeBoer, Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant son, 1 infant daughter, a son Thomas Lawson, and brother-in-law James Turner.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 1998, at 11:00 AM at Brandon United Methodist Church, Brandon, WI. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 1998, from 10:00 AM until the time of memorial service. The Reverend Gena Garton officiating. Cremation will follow.
