Jack Lee Owens Sr., age 83, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on September 24, 2008 at Kindred Hearts, Green Lake, with his family at his side.
Jack was born in Bush, IL on October 12, 1924, the son of General and Mary (Short) Owens. He graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago. In 1947 he married Cecelia “Lil” Bogdajewicz in Royalton, IL, Lil passed away in 1996. Jack married Hedwig “Heddy” Duffy in 1997 in Door County. Jack was the owner of Deluxe Die Mold Company, and a member of the American Mold Builders Association of which he was one of the founders, The TMA (Tooling & Manufacturing Association), and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, WI.
Survivors include his wife Hedwig “Heddy” Duffy-Owens of Green Lake, WI; his children, Jack (Diane) Owens Jr. of West Chicago, IL, and their son, Jack Owens III, Joyce (Rick) Janowski and their sons, Michael and David Janowski all of Brookfield, WI, James (Sue) Owens and their children, Jenna and Jamie all of Lake in the Hills, IL, son-in-law, Fernando Guerrero of Westchester, IL; step-children, Donna (Martin) Garber or Orland Hills, IL, Diane (John) Katsibubas of Orland Hills, Il, Jackie (John) Lazowski of Lemont, Il, and Robert (Amy) Duffy of Belmont, MS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Cecelia “Lil” Owens, one daughter, Janice Guerrero, his parents, and two brothers, Jim and Richard Owens.
Visitation for Jack Lee Owens Sr. will be held from 4-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056, and again from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Jack Lee Owens will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect, IL. Entombment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery and Mausoleum in Palatine, IL. Memorials can be given to the American Cancer Society, Midwest Division, 3311 S. Packerland Drive, DePere, WI 54115 or to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 745 South Street, Green Lake, WI 54941.
