Jack Edwin Thomas, age 85, of Parkview Nursing Home, Ripon, passed away Tuesday evening, July 12, 1988, at Parkview Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was born July 31, 1902, in Norborne, Missouri to Charles A. Thomas and Alma Leta Fowle Thomas. He married Frances Lillian Horner of Ripon, WI in July of 1932 in the Sisters of the Holy Nativities Chapel in Green Lake, WI by Bishop Weller, Episcopal Bishop of Fond du Lac.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two step-brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lillian Thomas of Parkview Nursing Home; one daughter, Anne Dorchester Thomas Bishop his only child, of Barron, WI; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was graduated with a degree in journalism at the University of Missouri. He studies art in Europe for four years, and the Art Students League of New York City. After his marriage he attended the University of Kansas, studying pre-med and later Baylor University Medical School of Dallas, TX. He was a member of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity and is a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church of Ripon.
Funeral arrangements have been made by Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church of Ripon at 10:00 am on July 15, 1988. Visitation only for the immediate family. The Reverend Robert J.C. Brown will contact the ceremonies and burial graveside rites will be at Hillside Cemetery.
