Jackson Kohl, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
Jackson was born July 30, 1928, in Lafayette Indiana, the son of Edwin J. and Kathleen (Brady) Kohl. He attended Ripon College and University of Madison - Wisconsin. On December 27, 1950, Jackson was united in marriage to Lenore Decker in Ripon. He worked as a Microbiologist for the family business for numerous years and as an Electronic Technician for Mercury Marine where he retired from in 1993. He was a member of several Amateur Radio Organizations. His hobbies included: Amateur Radio, vegetable gardening, reading, listening to music, and he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lenore Kohl, Ripon, WI; son, Richard E. (Sue Sherwood) Kohl, Ripon, WI; granddaughter, Angela Jean Kohl, Pittsburg, PA; grandson, Christopher Jackson Kohl, San Francisco, CA; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathleen Kohl; and a sister, Mary Edith Kohl.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Pastor Art Volkman will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061.
