Jacob Jack M. Uitz, Retired U.S. Army Captain, age 91, formerly of the Chicago area, passed away Monday morning, October 18, 2004, at The Gardens at Green Lake Manor, Green Lake.
He was born December 6, 1912, in Romania, the son of John and Margaret (Michels) Uitz, Sr. Jack attended New York University, and was a Captain in the United States Army. He was a member of the National Association of Uniform Services, Disabled Veterans of America and The Retired Officers Association. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake.
Survivors include his brother, Nicholas Uitz of Green Lake; nephew, John (Shirley) Uitz of Tennessee; niece, Margaret (Robert) Bostelmann of Green Lake; and great-nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and sister-in-law, Connie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Inurnment will be at Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King at a later date. Memorials may be given in his name to Hospice Hope.
