James H. Borgardt, age 54, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee.
Jim was born on March 21, 1957, in Oshkosh, the son of Harold and Elmyra (Miller) Borgardt. He was a past F.F.A member and graduated from Ripon High School and from the U.W. Madison Agriculture course. On May 26, 1995, he married Dee Vogt in Fond du Lac. Jim worked as a dairy farmer for many years and as a Crops and Maintenance Supervisor for Ruedinger Farms Inc. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Pickett.
Survivors include his wife Dee Borgardt of Oshkosh; his parents, Harold and Elmyra Borgardt of Pickett; four brothers, Mark (Tamie) Borgardt of Oshkosh, Richard (Wendy) Borgardt of Eldorado, Robert (Kathy) Borgardt of Pickett, and Steven (Amy) Borgardt of Ripon; two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Brian) Erickson and Jody (Randy) Huggett; many nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, John Ruedinger, and special pets, Brett and Buster. Jim was preceded in death by his mother/father-in -law, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for Jim Borgardt will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 502 County Road M, Pickett, WI.
Funeral service for Jim Borgardt will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Jud Krohn officiating. Entombment will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011, at Rienzi Cemetery and Chapel and Mausoleum in the Town of Empire, Fond du Lac County. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
