James Mccarthy

James “Jimmy” T. McCarthy age 64, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on August 30th, 2014.

Jim was born on December 3, 1949 in Bayonne, New Jersey to Edward F. and Dorothy P. (Shikoski) McCarthy. He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1983, Jim moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where he was president of Abash Enterprises for over 20 years. Abash specialized in Demolition and Concrete sawing, drilling and breaking. Summer vacations in Green Lake, Wisconsin where his mother was born and raised, were the highlight of family memories throughout the years, especially on the uncle's farms.

Jim is survived by brothers, John (Deb) McCarthy of Cape Coral, FL, Robert (Carol) McCarthy of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Edward McCarthy of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Kathy (Eric) Ratering of Green Lake, Wisconsin and aunt, Helen McCarthy of Arizona. Jim is further survived by loving nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy; special nephew, August Smith and uncle, Ray McCarthy

Jimmy had a generous heart and was well-known for his extravagance, practical jokes and endless crazy times. You never forgot us Jim. We will never forget you.

Join his family and friends to celebrate Jim’s life on December 6, 2014 from 1 – 3:00 pm at Sea Critters Café Harbor Lights, 506 Hill St., Green Lake, WI 54941. Inurnment has taken place at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. In remembrance of Jim’s life, please do an act of kindness or just say a kind word to people in need along the way.
