James M. Riviers, 71, of N9134 Douglas St., Ripon, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born August 22, 1932, in Brandon, a son to Alexander and Gertrude (Kehl) Riviers. He graduated from Brandon High School. Jim then served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. On April 7, 1956, he married Shirley Krause. Jim was a retired farmer, and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Ripon; children, Cindy (Gary) Berger of Bonduel, WI, Mike Riviers (special friend, Lori) of Green Lake, Lissa of Ripon, and Robert Riviers (special friend, Lorna) of Ripon; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Marie McAuly, Pat (Arnold) Grams, and Elaine Novak, all of Brandon, and Nancy Riviers of Visalia, CA; and 1 brother, Tom (Esther) Riviers of Clovis, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother in infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2004, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Robert A. Fictum officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service to follow. Visitation will also be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the church service. Interment will be in Loper Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
