James Schultz

James D. Schultz, 47, of 570 Sherwood Lane, Green Lake, died July 14, 1990, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1943, in Ripon, a son of Lorand and Ruth Jahnke Schultz. On August 5, 1978, he married Margaret Lucas in Mentor, OH.

Mr. Schultz was educated in Green Lake, attended Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Most recently he had been a truck driver and dispatcher for Badger Mining. Prior to his employment at Badger Mining, he had taught drivers education and history for several years at Horicon High School. He had been a resident of the Green Lake Area for all of his life. Mr. Schultz was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Ripon, a member of the church board of education for 3 years, chairman of that board for 1 year and is currently secretary of the Church Council and Voters Assembly. In 1988, he was awarded the “Sandman of the Year” honors from Badger Mining in recognition for being their most valued employee.

Survivors include his wife Margaret, who is an associate professor at Marian College; 1 son, James Daniel Schultz of Juneau; 1 daughter, Michelle Lee of Green Lake; 2 grandsons; his mother of Green Lake; 3 brothers, John and Joel, both of Green Lake and Jerry of Del Ray Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Judi Hanson of Arena, WI and Janet Schultz of Green Lake. His father Lorand preceded him in death on September 23, 1985.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 until 8 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral services for Mr. Schultz will be Wednesday at 5 P.M. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Ripon with the Rev. William G. Fenker officiating. Interment will be in the Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
