James Smith

James L. Smith, age 50, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 1984 at his home.

James was born on March 3, 1934 in Ripon, the son of Louis and Thelma (Ballard) Smith. He was educated in Ripon, and lived in Ripon all of his life, and served our country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1958. James was a truck driver and never married. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon,and also was a crossing guard for Ripon schools for 4 years.

James is survived by his father, Louis Smith; a brother, Elmer Smith of Ripon, WI; three sisters, Ruth Ann Smith of Ripon, Faye (William) Zacharias of Markesan, and Linda (Jay) Taylor of Ripon, WI; five nephews; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Smith.

Visitation for James will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday, July 8, 1984 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, WI.

Funeral service for James will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 9, 1984 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Rev. Carl Stubenvoll officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
