James "Whitey" Plagenz

James “Whitey” Russell Plagenz, age 72, of Waupun, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born October 23, 1943, in Beaver Dam, WI, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Mace) Plagenz Sr. In 1979; he married Joyce Ann Johnston in Ripon, WI. Jim enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt. Jim had a special sentiment for the 1950’s and 1960’s malt shop music and the cars that went with those eras as well.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Plagenz of Waupun, WI; daughter, Jamie (Samuel) Johnston of Waupun, WI; step-son, Brian (Angie) Paddock of Markesan, WI; step-daughter, Carrie Seymer of Ripon, WI; grandsons, Duncan Johnston, Peter and Joseph Paddock; granddaughter, Elizabeth Seymer; mother in-law, June Johnston; brother, Dennis (Jayne) Plagenz; sisters, Kathy (Gilbert) Cordell, Susie (Dale) Williquette and sister in-law, Carolyn Plagenz. Jim is further survived by aunts, uncles, brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evelyn Plagenz Sr.; brother, Walter Plagenz Jr.; father in-law, Gordon R. Johnston and mother in-law, Luella R. Merrill.
Visitation for Jim will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, and again on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Jim will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Pastor Sheri Routh will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lake Center Cemetery in the Town of Green Lake. A memorial is being established.
