Jane Palifano

Jane S. Palifano (Sadonna Jane Krebs), age 67, of Berlin, WI, died suddenly on Friday evening, November 9, 2001, in the arms of her first husband, Earl J. Krebs.

Jane was born August 11, 1934, in Wittenburg, WI, a daughter to Claude and Hazel Roper. She was educated in Waukau, WI, and lived in the Ripon and Berlin area most of her life. She was one of Berlin’s Certified Child Care providers and was lovingly known as “Nanny” to many children in the Berlin area who she cared for. She touched many hearts in the Berlin community, especially children. She was very active and known for her charitable contributions that she contributed throughout her life. Sadonna had a gift that many may have forgotten, the gift of kindness. There can never be a replacement of her gifted heart, only the memory of her givingness. One special note to all who read this, open your hearts as she did, and give with open hearts.

Survivors include her first husband, Earl J. Krebs; her children, James (Debbie) Krebs of Rosendale, Sandra (Ronald) Tesch of Fond du Lac and Julie (Robert) Shackelford of Berlin. Her grandchildren included, Amy, Jim and Tim Krebs of Rosendale, Sarena and Rex Herrington of Fond du Lac, Angela and Amanda Shackelford of Berlin and her great-granddaughter, Megan Herrington of Fond du Lac. She has three surviving brothers, Gordon, Red and Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents and second husband, Vito Palifano.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 15, 2001, from 5 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2001 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Reverend David A. Busker will officiate. Inurnment will follow. A memorial has been established. She will be remembered in the hearts of many.
