Jane R. Welch, age 90, formerly of Ripon, passed away early Thursday morning, March 2, 2006, at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh.
She was born March 10, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of James A. and Mabel (Holtoff) Russell. She graduated from Purdue University in 1937. On March 11, 1942, Jane married George William Welch in Chicago. She was a homemaker, an active member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Ripon, and Treasurer of the Womens Altar Guild for many years, an avid golfer, and master knitter. Jane worked at The Yarn Shop in Green Lake for more than 15 years.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Jane (Michael) Stellmacher, Minnetonka, MN; Mary Beth Welch, Madison; Sarah (John) Hill, LaPlace, LA; 1 son, Russell (Lori) Welch, Oshkosh; 6 grandchildren, Kitty Hill and Lucy Hill, both of LaPlace; Alexandra Welch and Leah Welch, both of Oshkosh; Eric Welch and Nicholas Welch, both of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her husband, and one son, George Jr.
Funeral services for Jane R. Welch, will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon with The Reverend Kenneth Guy
officiating. Visitation for Jane R. Welch will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at St. Peters Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, City of Ripon.
