Jeanne Marie Jones, age 81, of Ripon, WI, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Jeanne was born on October 7, 1929, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Col. Duke and Elsie (Zinzow) Jones. She graduated from high school in Columbus, Georgia and attended college at Ripon College and Milwaukee Area Business School. Jeanne worked as a secretary to the Dean at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She enjoyed gardening, Royalty (as in England, King and Queen), traveling and her cats and dogs. Jeanne had a love for football, particularly Bart Starr and Brett Favre, the singer, Mel Torme and Scotch on the Rocks.
Survivors include one brother, Dukie (Donna) Jones of Kodiak, Alaska; one sister, Roberta Grams of Ripon, WI; nieces and nephews, Terry (Lynn) Mathias of Ripon, WI, Sharon Grams of Monticello, IA, Tom (Jackie) Grams of Green Lake, WI, Judy (Keith Knepfel) Bryden of Green Lake, WI, Mike (Chris Bauman) Grams of Berlin, WI, Scott (Gail) Jones of Simi Valley, CA, Kim Jones of Lakewood, CA, Brian (Quyen) Jones of Albany, OR; cousin, Cathryn (John) Finucane of Myrtle Beach, SC; also many great nieces and nephews. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, cousins, Wallace “Red” and Florence Bucholz; niece, Shari Stover; two nephews, John Grams and Dave Bryden and great-niece, Fawn Marie Grams.
Per Jeanne’s wishes there will be no services. A memorial is being established.
