Jeannette Swiecki, age 92, of Markesan, WI, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at her home with her daughter by her side.
Jeannette was born on July 20, 1920, in Plover, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Zajac) Lach. She attended St. Branislava and Plover Public Schools. On February 8, 1948, Jeannette married Clifford T. Swiecki in Chicago, IL. She went to Beauty School and worked for various salons around the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Her volunteer time included the following: Girl Scout Leader in Chicago from 1961 1978, volunteered for Hospice affiliated with St. Agnes from 1986 1990, Community Options of Green Lake from 1990 1998, she volunteered at Green Lake County Food Pantry since 2002, and past secretary/treasurer for Greenwych Association. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake and a member of Council of Catholic Women. Jeannette was on a bowling team in Ripon, an avid gardener and environmental conservationist and she was known in Terre Haute, IN as The Wise Woman from Wisconsin.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana (Dean Taylor) Swiecki of Terre Haute, IN; two grandchildren, Logan Swiecki-Taylor of Terre Haute, IN and Lauren Swiecki Taylor of Cincinnati, OH; step-daughter, Kathy Fuentes of Hemet, CA; seven nieces, Eileen (Dennis) Gaull, Jeannette (Bill) Murray, Patricia (Leon) Ivanauski, Toni (Joe) Kosydar, Julie (Wayne Morris) Parzy, Patricia Bubba (Mark) Jurgella and Jacqui (Lance) Smalarz and further survived by great nieces and nephews. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Claudett S. Warner in 2002; brother, John Lach and two sisters, Eleanor Parzy and Virginia Gawlik.
Visitation for Jeannette Swiecki will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Saturday, August 4, 2012, from 10 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Jeannette Swiecki will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Bronislava Cemetery in the Town of Plover, WI. Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
