Jeffrey Tom Badtke, age 34, of 1316 Rush Ave., Oshkosh, died Wednesday morning, August 28, 2002, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton with loving family
members at his side.
Jeff was born in Ripon on November 27, 1967, to Tom and Doreen (Rupnow) Badtke. He graduated from Laconia High School where he had been a member of the F.F.A. and the F.F.A. Alumni. He graduated from UW-Madison Agricultural Short Course, and received a B.S. Degree from UW-Oshkosh. Jeff was a self-employed farmer in the Rosendale area, and also worked at Kinkos in Oshkosh. He was a member of the AGR Professional Agriculture Fraternity, a past officer of Pork Producers of Fond du Lac Co. and was a past member of the Oshkosh Area Community Band. Jeff attended Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon and Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh. On September 6, 1997, he married Jean Marie Schaefer.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife, Jean; 2 children, Erin (4) and Andrew (22 months); mother & father, Tom and Doreen Badtke of Amery, WI; sister, Kimberly (Peter) Haakenson of Evansville, WI; brothers, Corey (special friend, Erin OConnor) Badtke of Amery, WI and Matthew (Joan) Badtke and nephew & godson, Alex Badtke; of Plainfield, WI; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Badtke and maternal grandfather, Robert Rupnow, both of Ripon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Rupnow; and grandfather, Arnold Badtke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2002, at Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh with Fr. James Feely officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 8 p.m., at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery, Oshkosh. Memorial gifts will go to his children.
