Jeffrey Bice

Jeffrey Bice, 70, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, April 19, 2025. A dedicated brother, friend, and longtime member of the community.

Born on June 9, 1954, in Ripon, Jeff was a son of the late Ralph, Sr. and Everdeen (Meyer) Bice. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1972.

Jeff was known for his appreciation for the outdoors, and the way he showed up for the people and places that mattered to him.

In recent years, Jeff worked as a truck driver/mechanic for Machkovich Trucking Inc. and Extreme Transport LLC. During the winter months, Jeff also plowed snow, often rising before dawn to help keep the driveways and local parking lots clear.

Earlier in his career, Jeff managed Double R Lanes, a job in which he became a familiar face to many. Under his management, the bowling alley became a welcome place where neighbors gathered and friendships grew.

Jeff enjoyed spending time outdoors—especially fishing and hunting. He was a life member of the North American Fishing Club. He spent many early mornings and late afternoons in places he knew well and loved. Whether he was fishing on the pontoon boat on Green Lake or out at the land during hunting season, Jeff was happiest in those moments.

Jeff is survived by his sisters, Kandi West, Oshkosh, WI, Annette (Brian) Peppler, Ripon, WI, and Missy (Joe Brandner) Bice, Plymouth, MN; nieces and nephews, Will (Heather) Peppler and their children, Jase and Jensen, Brett (Meli) Peppler and their children, Brice and Ethan, Emily Peppler, Nicholas Brandner, Eric (Hana) Bice and their children, Mason and Morgan, and Nicole (Andrew Felt) Bice and their daughter, Kenna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph DeLos Bice, Sr. and Everdeen Bice; brothers, James DeLos Bice and Ralph DeLos Bice, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Steve West.

The family will be holding a private service, which will be posted online for viewing on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
