Jerome Robert Eiler, 75, of 406 Palmer Ave., Green Lake, passed away on April 29, 2002, at Ripon Medical Center.
Jerry was born on May 8, 1926, the son of William Adolphus and Mary Wilda (Thompson) Eiler in Chicago, IL. He attended High School in Chicago, entered the U.S. Navy in 1944, and he was stationed on LST 72 as Ships cook Second Class in the South Pacific during WW II. On May 7, 1955 he married Irmgard Wewer. Jerry was the Owner/Manager of Grand Pattern Works for 17 years. In 1972 he moved his family to Green Lake, and he commuted to Chicago for 16 years so he & his family could enjoy life on the lake. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as woodworking projects.
Survivors include his wife Irma of Green Lake, son Jerry and his children, Adam, Christa Beth, and Christian of Fairwater; son Mark and his wife Mary, and their children, Ryan and Peter of Holland, PA; daughter Mary (Radl) and her husband Richard and their children, Justin and Bryce of Tomah, WI; son Steve and his wife Candy, and their children, Alex, Austin, and Arielle of Ripon; and sister Betty of Forest Park, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, May 2, 2002, from 4-7 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Inurnment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
