Jerome T. Hanson, age 80, of Princeton, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI.
Jerome was born on February 2, 1929, in Poskin, WI, the son of Ted and Emma (Herman) Hanson. He completed four years at the University of Minnesota. Jerome served in Easy Company, First Marine Division, during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient, the Chosen Few. Jerome married Marguerite Sather on June 10, 1950, in Minneapolis. He worked as a salesman for a transportation company for 40 years. Jerome was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Mens Church Group in Ripon.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite of Princeton, WI; one daughter, Jill (Robert) Steininger of Aurora, IL; one son, Mark (Joan) Hanson of Naperville, IL; two grandsons, Jason (Jackie) Steininger of Big Rock, IL and Ted Hanson of Naperville, IL; three granddaughters, Sara (Andrew) Weber of Naperville, IL, Jamie (Michael) Mercer of Aurora, IL, and Ashley (Mike) Rutcosky of Naperville, IL; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara (Robert) Anderson of Minneapolis, MN. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Julie Hanson; brother, Clifford Hanson; and two sisters, Marge Tinglestad and Gwen McCallister.
Visitation for Jerome Hanson will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Memorial Service for Jerome Hanson will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Pastor Maurice A. Schaus will officiate. Jerome was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. You will be missed.
