Joan Rose Kemnitz, age 68, of Pickett, WI, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.
Joan was born on August 28, 1942, in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of Anthony and Ann (Swan) Schadd. She graduated from Mary Bradford High School in Kenosha and attended Saint Lukes Nursing School in Kenosha for one year and also attended Moraine Park Technical College for two years. In July of 1961, Joan married Kenneth Donald Kemnitz, Sr in Westfield, WI. Her occupation was working in nursing homes as a LPN. Joan was a member and the church organist at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she was strong, independent and hardworking. Joan enjoyed spending time with family, playing the organ in church and she spent many hours crocheting, knitting and sewing.
Survivors include three sons, Ken (Shelly) Kemnitz, Jr. of Ripon and their children, Chelsey (Kyle) Miland, Cory and Lindsey Kemnitz, Tim (Lisa) Kemnitz of Richfield and their child, Caleb, and Jeff (Deb) Kemnitz of Madison; one brother, Robert (Sue) Schadd and their children, Marie (Corey) Webster and Beth Schadd; one sister, Helen Cunningham and her child, Erica (Josh) Penn; one sister-in-law, Ada (Bill) Jones; one brother-in-law, Brian (Lani) Kemnitz and many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Jack Cunningham.
Visitation for Joan Kemnitz will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011, from 9 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Joan Kemnitz will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Interment will follow Liberty Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Utica. Memorials may be given to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 430 E. Division St. Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or Ripon Education Foundation, Music Scholarship: Ken Kemnitz, W13176 Cty KK Ripon, WI 54971.
