Joan Weeks

Joan Weeks, age 73, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon from a long battle with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy.

Joan was born March 1, 1942, in Rosendale, WI, the daughter of Harold and LaVerna (Wocknitz) Ballard. She graduated from Ripon High School. Joan was a secretary for 29 years at AC Neilson Company in Fond du Lac and later in life worked as a dietary aid for over 10 years at Parkview Care Center (Fountain View Care Center) in Ripon. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. In her earlier years she was on a bowling league and Ripon Pool League and she loved to travel to Hawaii and other places in the states.

Survivors include her two brothers, Jack Ballard and Jerel (Sharon) Ballard both of Ripon, WI; sister, Janice (Frank) Pugh of Markesan, WI; nieces, Julie (John) Barden of Kingston, WI and Cathy (Vebija) Dalton-Bajramoski of Ripon, WI; nephews, Jason (Beth) Pugh of Ripon, WI, Dean Pugh of Markesan, WI, Clayton Ballard of Seattle, WA, Lance (Kara) Ballard of Spring Hill, TN and Shane Dalton of Oshkosh, WI. Joan is further survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded by her parents, sister, Judy Dalton and brother-in-law, Robert Dalton.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral Service for Joan will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.

The family would like to thank Ripon Medical Center for their care and compassion and especially Fountain View Care Center for their great service to Joan for the last five years.
