Joanna Gehrke

Joanna L. Gehrke, 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday evening at Michalene’s in Ripon, in the presence of her family and their love.
Joanna was born on May 17, 1920, in Ripon the daughter of Frederick and Dora (Reepsdorf) Ristau. She graduated from Ripon High School and was a mother and a homemaker. On December 25, 1940, she married Gordon R. Gehrke in Maquohita, Iowa. She was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon R. Gehrke of Ripon; children, Gordon F. (Ellen) Gehrke of West Bend, WI and Patricia (Robin) Duffy of Ripon, WI; two grandchildren, Garrick (Jill) Gehrke of West Allis, WI and Gwen (Josh) Ampe of West Bend, WI; one brother, Earl Ristau and one sister-in-law, Henrietta Weishaar both of Ripon, WI. Joanna was preceded by her parents, one sister, Marcella O’Neill and three brothers, Melvin Ristau, Wayland Ristau, and Miles Ristau and one niece, Theresa Greenebaum.
Funeral services for Joanna will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at 2:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Reverend Gerald Schrankler officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may go to Our Saviour’s United Christ in Ripon or to Hospice Hope/Central Wisconsin.
