Joanne P. Erickson

Joanne P. Erickson, age 92, of Markesan, WI passed away of natural causes on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh, WI.

Joanne was born on July 22, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI daughter of August and Gladys (Faehrmann) Paul. She graduated high school from Kemper Hall Boarding School in Kenosha, WI. Joanne went on to further her education to become a dental hygienist, where she worked for Dr. Hatch, DDS in Milwaukee. On September 10, 1960, she married Halvor C Erickson, who passed away on October 9, 2024, shortly after they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.

Joanne left dentistry after starting a family and enjoyed working with children and became a teacher’s assistant for special needs children in Brookfield, WI, and later in Ripon, WI. In retirement her passion was gardening, baking and canning. She also enjoyed hunting with her husband and son. She loved summer visits with her grandchildren on Green Lake. Joanne was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Joanne is the survived by son, John (Nancee) Erickson of Chicago, IL; daughter, Kristin (Craig Hopp) Giblin of East Troy, WI; and grandchildren, Anna & Keith Erickson and Alison Giblin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Gladys Paul; husband, Halvor Erickson; and brother, James Paul.

Visitation for Joanne will be held from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church, W3278 C. Road K. Markesan, WI 53946, followed by the Memorial Service at 4:45 pm, with Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Light snacks and coffee will follow the service.
