John E. Doers 86, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007 surrounded by his family.
John was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin on September 6, 1920 to Jesse and Selma (Pearson) Doers. On February 14, 1942 he married Alpha M. Seng. John and Alpha lived in Ripon where he was a mail carrier and in 2001 they moved to Florida . He also served his country during WWII in the US Army.
Always a positive person, John will be remembered for his sense of humor and his unforgettable smile. He will be greatly missed by Alpha, his wife of 65 years and his daughters, Ginny (Scott McLean) Doers, Kate (Lee) Baird, Ellen Webb, and Janet (Al Apel, special friend) Padlock. His grandchildren: Danielle, Ericka, Lee Katherine, Chris, Cinamin, Cass, Derrick, John, and Jamie; his great-grandchildren: Natalie, Allie, Aysha, Jake, Angel, Justin, Tanner, Brendan, Dayton, Melica, Madisyn, Hunter, and Casey. He is also survived by his sister Hilda Haasl and his brother Edmund Doers. He was preceded in death by his son, John and Granddaughter, Jackie.
Visitation for John E. Doers will be held on Saturday September 8th, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
A Memorial Service for John E. Doers will be held on Saturday September 8th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon, WI with Pastor Maurice Schaus officiating. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon with full Military Honors at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Tice United Methodist Church, Outreach Ministry Program, 4545 Tice St. Fort Myers, FL 33905-3570.
