John Draeger

John D. Draeger, 75, of Ripon, died Saturday March 28, 1998, at his home.

Born March 6, 1923, in Montello, Wisconsin to Herman and Clara (Klawitter) Draeger. Married Mary Ann Mlodzik September 25, 1946, at St. John the Baptist Church in Princeton. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country for three years. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of employment. John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon where he had previously served on the church council. He also was a member of: Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278, Ripon Stamp Club, and NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and traveling as well as woodworking, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include; his wife Mary Ann Draeger of Ripon, two sons; Jim (Tern) Draeger of Alexandria, LA and Jerry (Sara) of Waterloo, WI; two daughters; Jane Draeger of East Troy, WI, and Judy Norris of Wausau, WI; five grandchildren~ two sisters; Vivian Mileski of Lake Bluff, IL and Dorothy Smith Theiss of Appleton, WI; one brother; Byron (Marilyn) of Oshkosh, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services for John will be held April 1, 1998, of 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 31, 1998, from 4:00-7:30 P.M., with a rosary being said at 7:30 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Visitation will be held again on April 1,1998, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971, or to St. Agnes Hospice Hope, 239 Trowbridge Dr., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, his family and many dear friends and relatives.
