John Walter Florek, 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away Saturday, January 8, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1906, in Superior, WI, the son of Valentine and Rosa Lisiecka Florek. In 1933, he married Agnes Steeps who preceded him in death in 1942. On May 2, 1960, he married Dorothy Wheaton. John was educated in Ripon and co-owned and co-operated Jess and Florek tavern in Ripon. John was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon.
Mr. Florek is survived by his wife, Dorothy, one daughter, Joan Dorsch of Ripon; two sons, Robert (Mary Jean) of Marquette, MI and David (Susan) of Ripon. Also surviving are three step-sons, Robert Wheaton of Fond du Lac, George (Cherry) Wheaton of Tomah and Gerald (Roni) Wheaton of Ripon, 11 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one sister, Bessie Jess of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, one brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 11, 1994, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon with Reverend William Toelle officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm Monday, January 10, 1994, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon.
