John Jack Livingston, age 71, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, November 2, 1990, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1919, in Chicago, IL, the son of John and Martha (Dakers) Livingston. On August 1, 1953, he married Nancy Wilcox in Longmeadow, MA. Mr. Livingston attended high school in Chicago and then served in the Army during World War II. He was a 1949 graduate of Ripon College and earned his doctorate degree from Cornell University. He was a professor at Ripon College, where he held a Delmar D. Wensick Chair of Political Science. He retired in 1981. At commencement exercises in 1990, he was awarded the Medal of Merit, the highest award given by the college to an alumnus for service to both the community and the school.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Elizabeth Jaeger and her husband Keith of San Rafael, CA; and one grandson, Ryan Livingston Jaeger and nieces, Meg Noll and Linda Dunn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A memorial service for Mr. Livingston was held Tuesday, November 6, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church. The Reverend Catherine Ann Carlson officiated. Interment was in Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to the John Livingston 49 Economics Scholarship Fund.
