John Rohde Sr.

John (Jack) J. Rohde, Sr., age 83, of Green Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Ripon Medical Center.
Jack was born at home on January 20, 1931, in Rahway, NJ, the first son of Raymond W. and Adelaide (Compton) Rohde. He graduated from Peddie School, Hightstown, NJ, and attended Rutgers University until he enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany from 1952-54. Jack married Gail G. Hansen at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield, NJ on June 14, 1958. He graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1957 and was employed as a packaging engineer for various corrugated packaging companies until his retirement from Menasha Corporation in 2000. He was a member of the Ripon Kiwanis Club, serving as President in 1982. Jack served on the Ripon School Board, the Ripon Area Service Center (Diverse Options) Board, and the ARC of Fond du Lac Board of Directors. Most recently, he volunteered at Ripon Medical Center.
Jack is survived by his wife Gail, his children Kathy L. (James Glodoski) Rohde, De Pere, WI; John J. (Michelle) Rohde Jr., Chino, CA; Karen T. (Richard) Kelm, Ripon, WI; and Michael H. Rohde, Ripon, WI; his grandchildren: Katelyn A. and Megan P. Rohde, Chino, CA; Aaron R. and Rebecca T. Kelm, Ripon, WI; and his brother Barry C. Rohde, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Harold N. and Gertrude R. Hansen.
Visitation for Jack will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Jack will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, with Reverend Clay R. Salmela officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery, in the City of Ripon, with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jack’s name.
