John Peter Uitz Jr, age 89, formerly of 850 Sunnyside Rd, Green Lake, passed away Thursday morning, February 5, 2004, at Parkview Care Center in Ripon.
He was born March 8, 1914, in Romania, a son to John and Margaret (Michels) Uitz. John graduated from I.I.T. in Chicago, and was a civil engineer for the C.T.A. (Chicago Transit Authority). He was a member of St. Michaels Parish in Chicago and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Jacob Uitz and Nicholas (Connie) Uitz, all of Green Lake; nephew, John (Shirley) Uitz of TN; niece, Margaret (Bob) Bostelmann of Green Lake; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL. Memorials to Habitat for Humanity for Green Lake Co., PO Box 64, Green Lake 54941.
