John Andrew (Jack) Zentner, age 76, of Ripon, died on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at his home.
Jack was born on March 28, 1930, in Baraboo, the son of John A. Sr. and Hulda L. (Stevens) Zentner. He graduated from Ripon High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. Jack worked for the Ripon State Bank for 13 years and for the Ripon Police Department for 16 years. In 1964 Jack married Shirley Wiercinski and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Blossom St., Ripon. Jack was a member of the American Legion Brown-Parfitt Post #43, a Life Member of the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278, Military Veterans Museum, Inc. Chapter #120 Life Member, and a Life Member the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Mark and Scott; daughter Margaret Meg (John) Hamell; grandson, Ryan Hamell; granddaughter, Caitlyn Chamberlain. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Merlin L. Zentner and Alvin H. Zentner.
Visitation for John Jack Zentner will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 from 9-11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (formerly St. Patrick Catholic Church) on Blossom Street in Ripon.
Funeral Services for John Jack Zentner will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Reverend Robert A. Fictum and Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be given to St. Agnes Hospice Hope CWB, 114 N. Pearl St., Berlin, WI 54923.
