Joseph Roscoe H. Froelich, age 89, of Green Lake, WI (formerly of Palatine, IL), passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Joe was born February 6, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the son of Isadore and Florence (Wittenbrink) Froelich. He graduated from high school and attended St. Henry Seminary School. Joe served our country in the United States Army in the Korean War. In 1955, he married Anna Mae Covganka until her passing in 1968. Joe then married Patricia Ann Schultz on October 26, 1968 in Melrose Park, IL.
He owned a hardware store in Chicago called Roscoe Hardware. Joe enjoyed bowling, fishing and was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed his Monday Manhattans with his golf crew.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann Froelich of Green Lake, WI; his eight children, Jim (Theresa) Froelich of Antioch, IL, Marty (Mary) Froelich of Schaumburg, IL, Mary (Jim) Meyer of Mt. Prospect, IL, Patty (Ken) Freund, Joe (Joan) Froelich and Jack Froelich all of Palatine, IL, Maggie Rowley of Beaver Dam, WI and Ted (fiancé, Tanya Winchell) Froelich of Green Lake, WI. Joe is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward Froelich of Nevis, MN; sister, Rita Huels of Carlyle, IL; daughter-in-law, Brandi Froelich and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Mae Covganka; son, Jeff Froelich; daughter-in-law, Laurie Froelich and two sisters, Mary Mueller and Catherine Schultz.
Visitation for Joe will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 9 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake with Father Michelu Ragola officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake with a Final Salute with Military Funeral Honors. A memorial is being established in his name.
