Joseph D. Thrasher, V, age 59, of W1524 State Hwy 23, Green Lake, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Berlin Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1939, in Berlin, a son to Joseph A. and Ruth (Janes) Thrasher, IV of Green Lake. He graduated from Green Lake High School in 1957, and then took the UW Madison Agriculture Short Course, completing it in 1959. Joe then entered the U.S. Army in 1962, and after serving in Germany, received his honorable discharge on April 10, 1964. His occupation has been a die setter for Wilson-Hurd Mfg of Berlin for the past 20 years. Prior to that time he had worked in farming and as a D.H.I.A. Milk Tester, and as a factory worker. His hobbies included going to farm auctions and antique farming machinery.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth (Thrasher) Schiaff of Green Lake; 1 sister, Lynne (Dennis) Hartman of Green Lake; 3 brothers, Charles (Janice) of Wautoma, Gary (Diane) of Germania and Keith (Rita) of Green Lake; aunts and uncles, Agnes Janes, Harold & Alice Janes, and Mary Ellen & Don Krebsbach, all of Berlin; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, that he loved and enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe A. Thrasher of Green Lake, uncles, Ken Janes of Berlin, George Thrasher of Berlin and Charles Thrasher of Green Lake, aunt, Lorraine Thrasher of Berlin.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 8, 1999, at 11:00 AM at the
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Brian H. Smith officiating.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 7, 1999, from 4 until 7 PM and again on
Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial has been
established.
