Josephine Lieske

December 29, 1917 — June 28, 2008

Josephine “Jo” Agnes Lieske, a loving mother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the age of 90, at Grand Horizons of Appleton, WI, surrounded by her family.

Josephine was born on December 29, 1917, in Ripon, the daughter to the late William and Frances (Kitowski) Jaworski. She was educated in Ripon. On April 19, 1941, she married John Robert (Bob) Stone and he passed away on July 10, 1972. Josephine later married Loren F. Lieske, Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret) and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1992. She had lived in Ripon most of her life, and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Sodality, the VFW Auxiliary of Ripon, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Appleton. She enjoyed life and loved to travel and spend time with pets and children. She was a very special aunt to many and loved by all.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Jean Stone of Appleton; 5 sisters, Ann Braun, Margaret Beuthin and Joan (Alan) Kennedy all of Ripon, Helen Stratton of Oshkosh and Martha (Robert) Manthey of Menomonee Falls; sister-in-law, Beverly Jaworski of Ripon; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, she enjoyed many special times with Pat (Willie) Albrecht and Deb (Tom) VanDerslice and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Wand and Betty Duvall and brother, Roman Jaworski.

Visitation for Josephine Lieske will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 10:30-12:00 noon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St. Ripon.

Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Lieske will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 12:00 noon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon with Father Robert Fictum officiating. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.

Many thanks to all the people that took care of her in her later years; Angelus Retirement Community, Oak Ridge Gardens Nursing Home, Gardens of Fountain Way, Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, and a very special thanks to all the caring people at Grand Horizons in Appleton.
