Joy Lou Failor, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the Markesan Nursing Home.
Joy Lou was born July 15, 1927, in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Lovy (Gressle) Gilmore. She attended Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac where she graduated in 1946. She then married the love of her life Harvey C. Failor on September 8, 1946. Joy Lou and Harvey were very close and spent 45 years together until his death in 1991. Along with her husband, Joy Lou was the co-owner of Drive in Liquor in Ripon. She was an excellent hostess and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining. Everyone was always welcome at Joy Lou’s house and there was room at her table as she was always prepared for more.
Survivors include her sons, Gary (Janie) Failor and Dale (Barbara) Failor both of Ripon, WI; granddaughter, Michelle Achterberg of Eau Claire, WI; two sisters-in-law, Junabelle Failor and Germaine Failor both of Fond du Lac, WI, along with nieces, nephews and friends. Joy Lou Failor was preceded in death by parents; her beloved husband Harvey; brothers, Orville, Roland, Marvin, Dale, and Ray Jr.
Visitation for Joy Lou Failor will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI.
Funeral Service for Joy Lou Failor will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Pastor Jack Igel will officiate. Entombment will take place on Monday, January 12, 2015, at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac, WI. Memorials may be directed to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 86 Green Lake, Wisconsin 54941.
