Joyce A. Bonsen, age 80, of Ripon, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
Joyce was born on July 4th, 1928 in Ripon the daughter of Dewey and Laura (Albright) Nimmer. She graduated from Ripon High School. She married Alan Bonsen July 23rd. 1949, at Grace Lutheran Church. Joyce enjoyed greeting and serving communion at church. She worked as co-owner of Alan’s Jewelry store of Ripon, and worked at Speed Queen as a secretary. She also volunteered at the Ripon Historical Society and at the Gift shop in the Ripon Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Bonsen of Ripon; one daughter, Debra (Douglas) Coolidge of Dallas, TX; two sons, Robert (Jody) Bonsen of Minneapolis MN; and Jeffry (Amy) Bonsen of Minneapolis MN; six grand children Timothy, and Victoria Coolidge of Dallas TX; Stephanie, Ashley, Ryan, and Luke Bonsen of Minneapolis, MN; and one sister, Merle Good of Green Lake, WI. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Evelyn Page.
Visitation for Joyce Bonsen will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, November 25, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and at 10:00 am, Wednesday 26, 2008, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for Joyce Bonsen will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 am, November 26, 2008, at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Pastor Maurice Schaus officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Garden of the Cross Cemetery, City of Ripon, at a later date. Memorials can be given to Grace Evangelical Church in her name.
