Joyce Schenke, age 82, formerly of Ripon, passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at Markesan Residence Home.
Joyce was born on May 31, 1925, in Waukesha, the daughter of Leonard and Gladys (Williams) Van Alstine. She graduated from Waukesha High School and Carroll College in 1947. On November 14, 1953, she married Russell C. Schenke in Waukesha. Joyce and her husband, Russell owned Ripon Variety Store and Schenke Printing. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, the Priscilla Circle, Ripon Historical Society, Science Club, Ripon Garden Club and 2 Bridge Clubs.
Survivors include, one son, Scott (Catherine) Schenke of Hales Corners, WI; 5 grandchildren, Jason Schepker of Franklin, WI, Brittany Schepker of Muskego, WI, Laura Schenke of Hales Corners, WI, Matt Schenke of Hales Corners and Adam Schepker of Hales Corners, WI; 2 cousins, James Van Alstine of Hartford, WI and Alice Maynard of Mauston, WI and many nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Russell on February 1, 2003.
Visitation for Joyce Schenke will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2007 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon and again on Monday, September 24, 2007 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon.
Funeral Service for Joyce Schenke will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon with Reverend Paul W. Nulton officiating. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be given to: Alzheimer’s Association, SouthEast Wisconsin, 6130 West National Ave, Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI, 53214.
