Joyce M. Smith, age 80, of 420 Union St, Green Lake, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Green Lake Manor.
Joyce was born on January 25, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Marvin and Joyce (Burroughs) Myers. She was educated at Whitefish Bay High School. In January of 1954, she married Randall Kay Smith in Fairbanks, Alaska. Joyce worked as a medical professional in Milwaukee and New Mexico. She was formerly a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star of Milwaukee and First Responders of Green Lake.
Survivors include son, James (Jane) Smith of Ohio; grandsons, Eric (Jeanine) Smith of California and Mathew (Jennifer) Smith of Illinois; great-granddaughters, Rachel and Zoe Smith; sisters-in-law, Barbara Doherty, Helen Smith and Audrey Myers all of Green Lake; brother, Thomas (Alene) Myers of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce is preceded in death by husband, Randall Smith, Parents and brother, Roger Myers. Special thanks to the staff of Green Lake Manor, Dr. Carroll, Hospice Hope, and her three sisters-in-law. There will be no visitation or funeral service per Joyce’s request. Memorials may be sent to, Irvine Presbyterian Church, ATTN: Pastor Eric Smith, Youth Ministry, 4445 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA. 92604.
