Joyce Lee (Anderson) Stanonik, age 79, of Ripon, WI, passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2018, at Wolverton Glen Assisted Living Facility, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.
Joyce was born in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, July 16, 1938. On Saturday, July 21, 1956, she married Peter J. Stanonik III in Waukegan, Illinois. She obtained her nursing degree from College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL.
Joyce then started her longtime career as a Registered Nurse at Saint Therese Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois. After she and her husband moved to Green Lake, Wisconsin in 1984, she continued her RN career at Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, Wisconsin, until her retirement in 2003.
Shortly after her husband’s death in 1992, Joyce relocated to Ripon, WI. After Joyce’s retirement, she volunteered for many organizations such as: Hospice, Ripon Hospital, Ripon Public Library, Traded Treasures Thrift Store, and the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, where she found her love of dogs. Joyce also enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her flowers in the summer, Sunday church services and Wednesday morning bible study.
She is survived by four sons, Peter (Cleopatra) James Stanonik IV of Killeen, TX, John (Dawn) Stanonik of Ripon, WI, Joseph (Cindi) Stanonik of Wadsworth, IL, and Jeffrey (Robyn) Stanonik of Lake in the Hills, IL; grandchildren, Peter, Michelle, Kathleen, , Johnna, Justin (Julaine), Brandon, Jennifer (Anthony) Pletcher; and three great-grandsons, Jayden, Benjamin, and Landon. Joyce is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cindy (Ken) Harvey of Wadsworth, Il, her brother-in-law, Martin Stanonik of Beach Park, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter, and two sons, Jason and Jeramy.
Visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 1:30 – 3:30 pm at Ripon Community Church, 155 State St. Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 3:30 pm at Ripon Community Church in Ripon with Pastor Jack Igel and Chaplain Barry Zabel officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018, at 11:00 am at Northshore Garden of Memories and Mausoleum, in the Chapel, 1801 Green Bay Rd., North Chicago, IL 60064. Memorials may be directed to Ripon Community Church, 155 State. St., Ripon, WI 54971.
